I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's greatest financial successes, regularly earning huge earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really proceeding.
